Fringe Serendipity
“Not from earth, I am from the internet”
Michael to a caller

One of the attractions of the Edinburgh Fringe is the opportunity of seeing acts that may go on to greater things; I was late to another show so could not get in so looked at a flier I had just been given.
At Monkey Barrell Comedy I walked in to Fry Me to the Moon a one man stand up comedy show by Michael Fry. The first thing I noticed was that for a basement pub there were plenty of chairs which were soon all filled, with good reason.
Michael joins the stage wearing a Hi-Vis jacket and proceeds to give a safety talk much to the audience’s amusement. He soon returns to describe various parts of his life leading to this. What makes him stand out is the fact that he also a good writer and performer of songs interspaced with his telling of who he is and how he arrived here. He says his Grandfather would be proud of him, and so he should be.
This is a good way of passing an hour and I wish him well.
