REVIEW: Leopards, Rose Theatre Kingston (2021)

Niala has been sending him copies of her cv and has emailed that she would like his advice on her future career.  Crucially she had attached a photograph to her cv breaking a code of not revealing age, or gender or appearance to those selecting people for jobs. And he has agreed to meet her on a Friday night outside normal working hours.

REVIEW: Grit of Life, Widgeon Theatre Boat (2021)

For anyone who has fond memories of time on a canal boat, not actually being a bargee but borrowing one for a holiday, this show is a must, a celebration of the canals and those who live on them.  Grit of Life is narrated by John Knowles, author and director, with Rory McLeod as song writer, on an 84 year old Canal Boat. The Widgeon Theatre Boat can tour its play with music to navigable water ways and you can sit the other side of the towpath.

REVIEW: Gin Craze! at the Royal and Derngate, Northampton (2021)

This musical is a celebration of feminism, there is a Lesbian romance and everything is seen from the feminine perspective. There are also social comments: we learn that in Southwark in 1736/7, 9000 children died from gin poisoning.
