REVIEW: Come From Away, Phoenix Theatre (2021) closed Tour from March 2024 to January 2025

The musical starts with foot tapping and stamping, exciting Gaelic rhythms with some Irish jigs as Claude introduces some of the Gander residents, teachers Beulah (Jenna Boyd) and Annette (Alice Fearn) and the policeman Oz (Harry Morrison). It is as if we are making new friends as we learn about the residents of Gander and their contribution and also the passengers of Captain Beverley Bass (Alice Fearn)’s plane, an American Airlines flight bound for Dallas, Texas.

REVIEW: Out West, Lyric Hammersmith (2021)

Out West is a collection of three one actor plays by three renowned playwrights, linked by each play illustrating differing aspects of racism and alluding to the area where the Lyric Theatre is today.  One is about a mixed race marriage, one about a black woman's fight for self esteem and one about a law student from overseas arriving in Britain in the reign of Queen Victoria.

REVIEW: Romeo and Juliet, Open Air Regent’s Park (2021)

The Capulets' masked ball is a socially distanced, visual masterpiece. The music has a heavy beat, maybe heavy metal, and masked figures dance singly and assertively on the scaffolding tiers, all of them flinging off cloaks to reveal clothes that sparkle and shine and shimmer. The dance is more war dance than ballroom.
